Malmaison and La Defense

On a clear, bright morning we visited Malmaison, Josephine's home, just outside Paris

We practically had the château to ourselves which let us do silly things, like this.

The man himself, in one of the many versions of this painting. Seems he had the artist, David, paint it with blue, green and red capes; different colored horses; different backgrounds to see which looked best. I guess that was the photography of his day.

On our way back to Paris we stopped at La Defense, the business district with its own version of the Arc de Triomphe

That arch is so large, it's impossible to capture in one shot!

Looking out the “back” of the arch, away from Paris you can see mostly office buildings and businesses
